Australian glass artist Mel Douglas creates distinctive works in glass that showcase delicate hand-engraving with a clean, minimal aesthetic. In collaboration, Douglas and Callan create new renditions of their signature forms, transformed by subtle surface treatments and a refined use of color. Works include a series of patterned wide bowls in a complex herringbone pattern and Droplets with dense networks of fine engraved lines. Callan and Douglas frequently teach advanced workshops in hot and cold glass-working at schools around the world. In 2025, they were featured artists at the 36th Niijima International Glass Art Festival in Tokyo, Japan.
